Time again for a Genius Trump Quote!

just came across this item on my google reader, from WireImage via mollygood

Donald Trump Opens His Mouth Again

Donald Trump always likes a good feud, especially when the matter at hand has absolutely nothing to do with him. His latest victim is Anne Hathaway, who we imagine has enough to deal with at the moment. Evidently Donald is offended by Anne’s lack of loyalty to con artist Raffaello Follieri (who spent the majority of his weasel-y time holed up in Trump Towers), and he’s telling everyone about it:

"She hasn’t remained very loyal to him, has she? So when he had plenty of money, she liked him, but then after that, not as good, right?"

Well, you would know all about women only liking men for money, wouldn’t you, Donald?

umm, didn't she stick by him through several arrests, and the most recent dumpage happened right before his latest and biggest arrest? also, he's a total loser...and i'm sure she has a fair amount of money on her own, this isn't your typical gold digger situation that trump himself gets into time and time again. and lastly, how is this any of his business. (or mine for that matter)

gossip websites have sunk to a new low

i feel this is either the sign of the apocolypse or sign that our celebrity obsession has officially gone too far...

justjared.com totally had an entire post devoted to pictures of romeo beckham (one of posh and beck's kids) picking his nose at a socker game! is it me or is outing a five year old for being a nose picker a bit ridiculous? i say kudos to him for still looking adorable as hell even with a finger planted firmly up his nose.

Cool off the Wire

Heath Ledger's untimely death reminds me of another recent death i meant to acknowledge here, but that idea, much like this fellow's career, was soon forgotten (too soon for that?) Brad Renfro...poor young brad renfro, who died January 15, 2008 at the tender age of 25....i remember him as one of my early crushes, though i can't remember exactly what role put him there...i know he did great work in many small films. unfortunately he succumbed to his drug problems (actually...i think its still unknown, but we can pretty much guess here.) he is apparently survived by a young secret son who lives in Japan with his mother. double saddies. maybe matilda ledger and Y renfro can mourn together in the future.

Hot off the Wire

Umm...Heath Ledger is dead. and i feel really weird about it. I just saw this on the news...i guess his body was found about an hour and a half ago in his bed...surrounded by some sort of pills. nothing funny about this. just sad.

Questions: The Somethingth-somethingth Annual Golden Globes

According to this People.com article, presenters and nominated actors for this Sunday's Golden Globes are refusing to cross the picket lines. This leaves me with a couple of questions.

1 - Will the presenters most likely keep their gift bags newayz?
2 - What will the actual televised show be like, since the GG's have also stopped using a host? Will it just be a shot of a lone golden globe award, sitting on the stage behind a microphone for three hours (interrupted only by the Best Reality TV award of course...is there even one of those at the Golden Globes?)?
3 - Will the show still probably run long? (yes)
4 - Will the writers on the planned picket lines at least be dressed up so we can have SOME gowns to talk about?
5 - Can i go onstage and accept a golden globe for someone?
6 - Can we please stop giving awards to Medium's Patricia Arquette? I mean, seriously, love the show, but her snaggletoothed acting is certainly something that counts against it.
7 - Do you think those actors and actresses that might get a first-time award this year will be really really sad about not being able to publicly thank the world and Jesus for their tremendous success?

LONG LIVE SAUER!!!!

i have a new favorite judge and his name is michael sauer. i've always known michael to be a fair and honorable judge, based on his initial 45 day sentencing of paris hilton and mandate that she serve her time in jail --- no alternative methods would be acceptable. then her sentence got reduced to 23 days, but at least she'd still be in a real live jail. then she went to jail and the world rejoiced. three days later, she got sent home with an ankle bracelet by the evil sheriff baca because of a mystery "rash"...a rash i'm sure baca himself will have to deal with soon - if you know what i mean. when the world was in uproar, sending emails and making phone calls (why didn't i think of that) protesting paris' release, baca said this idiotic statement: "My message to those who don't like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice" i don't know what world he's living in, but i'm sure it has swiss bank accounts.

Back to my hunky man--- when Judge Sauer found out that paris was released to finish her sentence under house arrest (in her four bedroom three bathroom house no less) he got MAD!!! He ordered her back in court this morning and her attorney insisted on having Paris "appear" in court via telephone. Sauer wasn't having that either, and sent a sheriff's car to pick her up and bring her in.

Before i go on to the best part, here is a quote from Ms. Hilton herself, in response to her early release: "I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally," she said. "I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."

i have so many problems with that statement, that i'm just gonna move on to the good part.

Paris has been ordered back to jail by the Honorable Judge Michael T. Sauer. Oh, and instead of the reduced 23 day sentence, she must now serve the full 45 days. !!!!! !!!!!!! hhahahahajfkle;afjeiao~~~!!!!!! if that's not good enough for you -- she was taken back to prison from court screaming "it's not right" and "mom! mom! mom!". if you search, you can also find pictures of her makeupless and covered in tears in the back of a cop car.

we'll talk about what lessons you've learned in 45 days hilton.

Paula Abdul, tiny tumbler

Paula Abdul tripped over her dog earlier and broke her nose. Hilarious by itself, even more hilarious when you think about how she doesn't have to hide the fact that she's on painkillers for the finale, because she has a valid excuse to be ca-razy this week! Bring on Wasted Paula!!

MG REIGNS AGAIN!!!

The other day, we here at the cooler than stupid blog got about 130 hits. i was so excited for us!!! But guess what i discovered after searching a little deeper? Maggie Gyllenhaal!! Foiled again by Maggie Gyllenhaal!! Apparently, some other website has linked the one picture we have of Mags and making it look like we are more popular than we actually are. You won't fool us again, Gyllenhaal! Next time you're caught breastfeeding your baby in public, you better believe we'll prepare for the onslaught of oglers. you better believe it indeed.

Reality Corner...in REAL LIFE!!!

i'm normally not one to name drop really because, you know, it's tacky. But, in this situation, it's necessary. Worlds collided for me yesterday, with a clash of reality corner starz.

the show i work on has celebrity guests every now and again. Yesterday, we had two; the normal weekly idol castoff that we get as well as one of my heroes (who...was slightly disappointing. word of advice - try not to meet your heroes.) So, side note -- LaKisha Jones is kind of amazing and it's sad that we didn't get to see too much of her personality on Idol because that show really made her seem like a dud. And she's nothing like that.

Ok, so I go out to greet my hero, amy, and she steps out of the car with a fellow who introduces himself as Jim. This fellow looks really familiar to me but i'm assuming it's her rep, so the context i'm placing him in doesn't logically meet up with what i'm seeing him as. we walk in and he asks me if there is a place that he can touch her up. So i'm like "okay, he's not her rep. i was right. This guy was totally on Shear Genius." (unfortunately, he was eliminated before SG was inducted into Reality Corner, so unless you watch the show, you won't know who he is...) So, then i'm overcome by the need for confirmation. We're all hanging around waiting for amy to go on camera and i say "excuse me, jim?" and he says "yes, sweetheart?" and i say "Umm...Were you on Shear Genius." To which he said "yes", laughed, and added "Shear LOSER!!" So i said something like 'oh no, you were great! you went too early!' -- which...who knows if that was true, i can't even remember that far back. but he graciously accepted that with a "Oh, thank you!!" and we are now bff. ok, not true, but he's definitely the nicest celebrity hair/makeup person i've ever met and we did a lot of arm-grabbing with each other.

The only thing that could've completed the day was if I walked into the greenroom at the end of the show and tyra was in there nibbling on some wings.

On a more serious note...

I know we've all had moments when we feel like we have no one to turn to, no one to talk to. Sometimes, you just want advice from someone who doesn't know you on a personal basis, someone that's detached from your life and can help you look at things in a different light. Recently, I've found this person, and she's really helped me through a lot of tough times. I thought it'd be too selfish of me to keep this amazing woman to myself, so i'll share the address with all of you. as a gift, to help you just keep on truckin'.
here you go (you're welcome):
This will change your life

I forgotted!!

I meant to post this last friday, but alas, i am a forgetful bean.

here are five things that made my mouth drop:

1) Paris Hilton and James Blunt dating. Two people I despise from deep within. i would be pleased if they both exploded together.

2) A girl that was at virginia tech during the massacre was also a survivor of Columbine. that poor girl must hate education.

3) I read some article that said Sanjaya is planning on taking over Broadway. he must mean the corner of Broadway and 43rd, collecting change.

4) There was a man on the train reading a pink newspaper. A PINK newspaper!!!

5) We are sliming Sanjaya today at work (Me:TV) and i'm thrilled.

SERIOUSLY, America?

America has been making some bad choices recently that not only make me uncomfortable, but that i think are forewarning us that the world is about to end. For one, Antonella Barba is still on American Idol. Secondly, Britney scrawls 666 on her forehead, screams that she is the antichrist, and then tries to kill herself with her bedsheets...and NOW, fucking WILD HOGS made 38 million at the box office. REALLY, AMERICA?!?!?! You're going to throw away your money on that load of crap??? are the four horsemen of the apocalypse really just john travolta, tim allen, martin lawrence, and william h. macy on motorcycles?!?! excuse me while i go vomit as much as i did when i read on the news that a woman's torso in a suitcase washed ashore.

Laundry List of Crazy

I just wanted to make a complete list of the crazy things going on with Britney Spears--if for nothing else but to try and wrap my own mind around what's happening here. I'm pressed for time, so I won't be able to find all the sources, but i'll do what i can.

Ok, so first off - she checked into rehab last week and less than 24 hours later she had already checked out. She then proceeded to get lips tattooed on her wrist and something else tattooed somewhere else (here's the part where no time for research comes in). Ok, and then she went and shaved her head and everyone in the world freaked out because our little britney is having a full-on collapse. So THEN I read yesterday that she checked back in to rehab and read today that she's already checked out again. i'm not sure if she understands the concept of rehab and that you shouldn't be checking out if you want a drink. i also found out today that there is speculation that the reason she shaved her head is because Kevin Federline was threatening to have her drug tested (which includes the hair) in order to get custody of the kids. at first i was completely anti-federline in all of this, but now i'm starting to wonder if he's maybe the best option for these poor tykes.

ok so now we get to the real crazy. Earlier, i was pointed toward wwtdd.com where i read that after britney shaved her head, she showed up at the mondrian hotel wearing an electric blue wig, no cash or credit cards with her, and was refused a room. the best part (and a beautiful mental image) was that she was seen later by the pool CRYING WHILE SHAVING HER LEGS. what a beautiful, fucked up tale of woe.

Stop right now, thank you very much

if anybody knew me between the ages of 13 and 18, then they probably experienced my irrational obsession with the Spice Girls. I don't want to go to far into detail about how crazy I was about them, but lets just say that not only did I have posters, tshirts, and every album they put out (plus a few singles), but i also had a box of spice girl lollys -- you would lick the hard candy on the outside to reveal a bubble gum with one of the spice's faces on it. So imagine how pleased i was to read about a potential reunion like - wicked excited and although i have made major steps in moving past that phase in my life, i still sometimes revert back to my love for them. Anyway, this brings me to something i've been meaning to say for a while. Does anybody else think that lady sovereign is just sporty spice tryin to make a comeback?

blame it on the rain

So I just read here that a milli vanilli movie is in the works. at first i thought that it might be difficult to make an entire full length movie around their short blip on the pop culture radar, but then realized that theirs is a fascinating story-- after all milli (or vanilli -- actually he was the lighter skinned one, so he was probably vanilli) did kill himself after everything blew up in their faces. maybe rob and fab's tale could be epic oscar bait. really, the only thing that matters to me is that the actors playing them have someone else dubbing their voices. i really think that that's a pretty obvious thing that needs to happen. who would like to join me in petitioning the studio?

another look back!

To one of our favorite stories/and one time contributor A. Rock.

He has written to tell us that he is still happily married to his wife, Bed Rock and his children are all doing well. His eldest daughter Limerock is now attending Slippery Rock University. They intend to take a family vacation this summer to the La Brea Tar Pits.

He sent the following family picture:

Yep, that's a pretty fair trade

Sorry for the pop culture-heavy posts today...but at least it's something, right? I just wanted to share with the world (or, you know, the 15 of you) a hilarious tidbit I just read about. Apparently, FOX is shopping around for a replacement for Paula Abdul as the female judge on American Idol. My first thought was that, yes, indeed she can be pretty annoying and pretty wishy washy about her opinions and pretty soft on the contestants and can NOT hide her attraction to the underage boys, but she's probably getting the boot because bitch is never sober. (even though she claims to have never been drunk in her life...i'd look for the source here, but really, i'm just trying to get out of work, so look it up if you want) So then I was all, well, I'm sure they'll find someone who can handle themselves in public better than Paula, somebody who is rarely ever fucked up that they can trust to represent them well, and someone whose opinion is valued in the singing community because this show is gargantuan now and it's integrity has been questioned a lot recently. And then I saw that the person they are eyeing as a replacement is none other than Courtney Fucking Love. Seriously? Because you're just gonna have the same problems...but also maybe some STD's too or something.
